The first Dutch Outsource Awards were presented during the gala dinner on the occasion of the PON/OM Awards on Thursday 11 June. Unamic/HCN and Sanoma Publishers were the winners in the category Customer Management for the case "From Cost Center to Value Center". Unamic/HCN has taken care of customer contact with the subscribers for Sanoma Uitgevers, roughly 1.1 million incoming contacts per year via telephone, post and e-mail.

The jury, chaired by Polo van der Putt judged the submission: "This project is more complex and more innovative compared with the other nominated projects. This concerned a so-called multi-channel project (post, telephone as well as e-mail) and Unamic/HCN set up a pilot factory. With this 'pilot factory' a test environment was created where propositions of inbound customer contact are tested, where realistic goals are established and where database management is combined with database marketing. In addition the parties use an advanced risk-sharing calculation model." In general the jury felt that the category Customer Management Outsourcing seemed to be the most fully-developed. In this category the result was chiefly measured by the improvement in the client's competitive edge and not so much in reaching service levels.
Danny Hooijberg, Manager Customer & Campaign Services Sanoma Uitgevers: "We are very enthusiastic about working with Unamic/HCN. For us the quality of the contact with our subscribers is paramount. And Unamic/HCN is successful not only in making the contact efficient but also to let it be of added value. It is of course nice that we should also win an award to go along with it."
Jeroen ten Haave, CEO at Unamic/HCN: "This Award is very important for us, it says something about the way in which we enter into partnerships with our clients. It is fantastic to get collective recognition at this level."
